A Think For Your Armor – Draymond Green
There’s no doubt that Draymond Green is a tremendous basketball player. At times this year, he’s been able to carry the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors. The most recent example of this is his play in the previous two rounds the NBA Playoffs. With league MVP Steph Curry convalescing, Draymond stepped up and delivered and incredible performance. He’s provided the heart and soul both on and off the court for this Warriors team.
To be great, one must be able to handle the heavy burden of the pressure that is applied while in the spotlight. Last night we may have seen some of the weight of the season catch up to Draymond. During the course of a game 3 trouncing at the hand of the Oklahoma Thunder, Draymond flat out soccer kicked Stephen Adams right in his testicles. If we’re going to be The Think In Your Armor, we’re going to tell the truth. That is the truth of Draymond Green’s actions. It wasn’t an absurdly violent assault.
Last night’s hooliganism may have been less vicious than the right hook that landed on the face of Joey “Joey Bats” Bautista last week during the Blue Jay’s game against the Texas Rangers. However, there’s no denying where Draymond’s foot landed yesterday. So how about we don’t waste our time debating whether or not it was on purpose, whether or not it was retaliation, whether or not Draymond should be suspended. Instead, let’s call a spade a spade. Draymond Green based Steven Adams where the sun don’t shine. How can that be viewed as anything other than a reprehensible, gutless, mindless action for which he should be immediately suspended?
Proposal: If we’re going to argue that Draymond doesn’t deserve a suspension (Stephen A. Smith we’re looking at you), maybe we should start employing Hammurabi’s Code in these situations. Let Adams take his shot at Draymond and call it a day!
Keep those Kappels on!
